hi listers and listees, does anyone know where the 1765 census of sc might be accessed, print, film, or -- preferably -- on line? thanks graham working on GRAHAM or GRIMES in lancaster co
Could this be a Tax List for Lancaster Co.? Shirley McCoy
LOL If I knew that I would have told you along time ago. No parents for my Mary McDaniel. Shirley [email protected]
If anyone has the Kershaw County portion of the 1870 Federal Census, I would ask you to please look for two names for me if you would. I don't know where they may have lived in the county, but I would like what information it may show there for the surname of BORNKESEL, and also for the household of Minton G. HUCKABEE and his wife Amy. Thank you. Bill [email protected]
Shirley, No I do not know who the parents of Susan McDonal were. If I did, it sure would remove a big block. Who were the parents of your Mary McDaniel? Curtis
Curtis, Do you know who Susan McDaniel's parents were? This might help. It is possible that my Mary and your Susan were sisters/cousins. Thanks. Shirley McCoy
Hi Shirley, No, I'm not interested in the Chancellor family. I saw you request for help on a Mary McDaniel, b.1796 in Lancaster, SC and as I'm researching the McDaniel surname in that area I responded. One never knows who has the answer to your block and that's what makes the Internet such a valuable aid in research with its many contacts. Thanks for your response. Curtis
Hi Curtis, I just found this mailing list and prayed someone could help me with my Mary McDaniel who married John McCoig from Inverness, Scotland. They were in a Lancaster District Census; then to Nashville, TN; on to NC; the McCoigs are still in TN today (Sevier Co.). I don't know anything about the McDaniel's and would love to. Sorry I can't help you at this time. I have some SC books while doing another family and would be glad to check what you're looking for. Is it Chancellor as this subject indicates? Shirley McCoy [email protected]
Shirley, Have you heard of Susan McDonal/McDaniel born 1800 Lancaster District, SC? In 1824 Susan married Hamilton Carroll, Sr. Their daughter, Sarah, married in 1849, Robert Patrick McDaniel in York, SC. Curtis McDaniel
Has anyone doing research in SC encountered this surname, or any close variant? I have found a marriage record for one of my HUCKABEE relatives, and it shows him, Minton G. HUCKABEE, marrying Amy BORNKESEL in 1869. Bill Hughes [email protected] Peoria, Arizona ô¿ô SMILE, it drives the "normal" folks crazy!
Thank you for the additional info, Frances. I appreciate your efforts. Bill
Does anyone have any info on Mary McDaniel b. c1796 SC, styled "of Lancaster Co., SC?" Thanks for any help. Shirley McCoy [email protected]
Bill, I went back are re-read the information on Chancellor and foumd this little tidbit. No other information comes up. Frances 163. CHANCELLOR. Mrs. G. A. Chancellor (112 13th Ave., Hattiesburg, Miss. 39401) asks for information on the Chancellor families who lived in Chesterfield Co., S. C., 17901810. These include William Chancellor and Jeremiah Chancellor. They were members of the Lower Lynches Creek Baptist Church. R W Hughes wrote: > Frances, > Thanks, I appreciate the kind offer to help. Has anyone ever seen or heard of this name before? Or something really close to it? I just got hold of some family records from way back, and it shows Minton G. HUCKABEE marrying Amy BORNKESEL on 3 Dec 1869. This "is" a photocopy of 130 year old handwriting, but it is much better than "normal" handwriting from back then. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bill
Frances, Thanks, I appreciate the kind offer to help. The name I would be most interested in is the one that I know of in file..........Jeremiah Chancellor, who was supposedly born about 1769. His wife's name was Galatea [nee Gilbert], and they lived in either Lancaster or Darlington County. The only child that I know of was named Dicey. Bill
Bill, Do you have a first name for Chancellors? I went back and re-read the information, it concerns Chancellors of the Court with Chancellor being a title for a job. I will do a PERSI seach and see what I come up with. Frances R W Hughes wrote: > Frances, > Thank you for the reply and the kind offer. I'm not really sure how > large the e/mails can go with Juno. Frances, Thank you for the reply and the kind offer. I'm not really sure how large the e/mails can go with Juno. I do know that I have received rather good sized gedcom's as attachments. I would ask that you try it and let's see what happens. If it is over a size limit, then maybe I can get you to bust it up some. Bill
Bill, I found a large amount of information on the Chancellor surname. The e-mail will be large if you can handle it I will send it along. I am trying to find more info on the CHANCELLOR family. The sketchy info that I have thus far states that Jeremiah CHANCELLOR [b. @1769] was married to Galatea GILBERT [b. @1773]. It is uncertain as to whether they lived in Chesterfield or Lancaster County. They had one known daughter named Dicey CHANCELLOR [dates unknown] who married Abraham BLACKWELL Jr. They lived in the Darlington County area. Does anyone have any further info on the CHANCELLOR family? Thank you. Bill Hughes [email protected] Peoria, Arizona ô¿ô SMILE, it drives the "normal" folks crazy!
