I threw out the idea to see if there is enough interest to persue. Everytime I use the Kershaw Expanded 1850 I am so pleased with it as opposed to when I check out the 1850 Lancaster. I would be looking to expand the 1850 with more data, full names, women's maiden names, actual dates, etc. Any computer format with some indication of its source. A lot can be derived by use of the 1860 census and cemetery records but what I don't want is unattributed guesses. I have had too many people say they got the "fact" from LDS or Family Tree Maker CD, which is like saying I heard it from a neighbor. GEDCOM, Rich Text File, whatever. I can get the data into a format. I will find a home for it on the net. Interested? Bil Tell me more about this. Is it something I can help with and like how? Do we just each submit our data or does it come from some source that we transcribe? sheryl -----Original Message----- From: Bil Brasington [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, July 03, 2000 12:34 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [SCLANCAS] 1850 Census As all of us who have tried to work with the 1850, frustration is the keyword. Kershaw County has published a great Expanded 1850 Census. Any interest in joining with me to do like wise? I see it is a huge GEDCOM, starting with the census and expanding full names and adding dates and locations, marriage data, and military service. A general research tool to be shared. I assume we can find an online home for it. I volunteer to be the focus for the gathering of such a group, unless someone else would like the task. GEDCOM to me and I would do the cutting and pasteing. To be effective, I would like a source of the data. No need to send just 1850 families, if you do not know who to subset your data. No use building off of 4th or 5th hand data. Enough bad data out there (Rev William Figures Brasington was NOT born in England but in Sumter County, SC) not to mention bogus family connections. Do I see any other jands raised? Bil ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

Hello: If someone has easy access to Lancaster Co. marriage records, could you please check for a John Montgomery to Margaret Unknown around 1810 or so. Thank you for your time. Best regards, Tracey Baldwin
As a special tribute to the 4th of July holiday coming up, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all veterans a safe and happy day, and to say thank you for what you gave to our country. I would also like to invite all of you to go to my webpage and browse thru the long list of names of those in my families who served this country in times of conflict since prior to the Revolutionary War. I am very proud to make the Veteran's Honor Roll a special part of my webpage. Bill Hughes [email protected] http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bhughes/
