I was told that there wasen't any censuses done in these 2 decades, 1860 & 1890. 1890, because they did the Civil war one then. I am pretty sure for this one. Was there one that I am not aware of done in 1860, statewide? Or a special one for Ross County, maybe bookform. Would anyone have access to this information. Also, this might sound dumb, but what is a mortality index, I suppose, its a list of all people who lived and gone, and I think there is one on Ohio or maybe a county for the period of 1860. Well anyway, the reason I am asking, is I thought I seen one on Ohio, that costs money to buy, and I am one who believes genealogy should be free. or at least capped at a certain level. I bought the familytreemaker long time ago, and returned it because I thought it costs too much, then I asked for one for x-mas and got it, and for a long time couldn't find anything on it, til recently, of some ancestors in SHelby county, but you know, now they got bundles 8-12 and 13 thr 17, for 59.95 each; I haven't bought , so thats more money to boot, if you want to access these, plus all the subscribtion things on net. I suppose some libraries loan genalogy cds, but ours doesn't in Logan county. Would anyone have access to this info, the mortality index question, before I got sidetracked. ha. ha.. I graciously thank you. Judy Lee Fry-Nichols Good day, y'all
