According to the Handy Book for Genealogists, the mortality schedules usually cover (if they're available) 1850, 1860, 1880 and are supposed to include anyone who died 1 July, to 30 June before & after the 1st of the year of the census. i.e. 1 July 1859-30 June, 1860 Not all survived and not all are published.
