Hi Folks: Is there anyone out there that has access to the library at Chillicothe Ohio. I understand they have death records from 1867 past 1900 in book form , on microfilm and the actual records at the Old Jail . Could anyone look up my G Uncle Charles Gross or Charles Wallrodt born 1847 and died about 1880. I would like the date and the cause of death. Family history indicates he died of war wounds he suffered in the Civil War. I believe he is buried in an unmarked grave in Edwards Farm Cemetery in Franklin Twp. Charles was born Charles Gross, his father died and his mother married Fredrick Wallrodt. Some relatives say Fred adopted Charles and his two sisters. Not certain if there was a name change. Have been unable to determine if he was in fact a soldier in the Civil War, most of the info. I have is from a note on some family genealogy my Grandmother left behind, What she said would have been heresay since she didn't marry into the family until 1896. A paragraph in the Cemetery records at the library indicates a Civil War soldier Crossie or Crozie Waldoldt(sic) is buried in Edwards Farm Cemetery. This was from the memory of the wife of a veteran of the war who placed a flag on a grave in Edwards Cem. when he was alive. I think this may be the soldier I am looking for. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Anyone who can help me solve this problem will certainly make my day. John W.
