John Henry RICE (went by the name Henry) b. 5 May 1854, Sciota Co., Ohio parents: John RICE and Malinda KELLER. Something must have happened to John Sr. and Malinda because John Henry was raised by William and Icabinda "Icy" (Bennett) BROWN. John Henry is on the 1870 Ohio census (Pike Co, Marion twp), age 6, as living with the Brown's. m. 1: Abigail MASTERS in 1887. They had one son, Earl Masters RICE. Abigail died in 1895. Earl Masters RICE moved to Colorado. m. 2: Sarah "Sadie" Marie CULP in Pike Co, 1895. They emmigrated to Alberta, Canada abt. 1806. He and Sadie had 8 children between 1896 and 1912. John Henry left the family and moved to Colorado to live with his oldest son, Earl Masters RICE. d. 22 July 1934, Hayden, Colorado. Was buried in Hayden, Routt Co., Colorado. Parents: Jacob CULP and Nancy BOWEN) mother: Eliza Jane GORDON (born 12 Sep 1835, Pike Co. Ohio.
