I won't belabor this issue but the book by Everton: The Handy Book for Genealogists does a pretty good job about identifying the county records that are available as well as info on possible fires in the courthouses and the amount of records destroyed/or saved. It also tells you which office contains particular records and gives the address for the courthouses. Be advised: the area codes for phone numbers as Ohio has added several new ones. Around Dayton has been changed to 937, (not in Franklin Co.) the surrounding areas in the middle of the state to 740 and n.e. 330 (not sure about that one though) Good hunting! Carol
