    2. According to a document from Thos Ferguson, former state Auditor - these are the places for documents from the state of Ohio. Land entry records - Original OH purchase Auditor of State's Land Ofc. No Conn. Reserve or Symmes Purchase. Birth and death records were not recorded in Ohio until 1867. Those are maintained by the Div. of Vital Stat., Oh Dept of Health, in the county of the birth or death. Marriage records in counties. Probate Court. They can be sticky about those depending on the dates. Wills - Probate Ct. each Co. Mortality sched at State Library of Ohio for 1850 h-w counties, 1880 a-g. Military records of all soldiers who enlisted from Ohio since WWI and all Natl Guard since 1903 - Soldiers Claim Div., Ofc of Ohio Adj General. Ohio did not grant state pensions. Rev War - NSDAR Deed records beginning with US patent (Includes ordinary transactions) - County Recorder. Bounty Land, Cash Entry Files, Credit Entry Files, General Land Ofc records - all at National Archives, Washington. Pat Snyder
