I am looking for the surname of ROSS, another set of ancestors that lived in Portsmouth, OH. I am descended from ELZA ROSS who was married to ANN BATMAN or BATEMAN from ??. They are buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth. They are my gr-gr-grandparents. He worked on the Erie Canal and was a Civil War Veteran. Elza's father was Israel Ross who was from Washington Co. Ohio but do not know where he is buried or who his wife was. I am in earnest hope that someone out there is a descendent or knows something about these folks and would appreciate greatly hearing from some of the historians or kin in that area. thank you in advance for any information you may have.
