In reference to MONTGOMERY inquirey: sorry im so long answering this. there were several MONTGOMERY"S in the 1870 census of Scioto county. if you want a list of themk all let me know, ill be happy to send them to you. in reference to William H. MONTGOMERY i found the following. W.H.H. MONTGOMERY in township of Portsmouth on page 544 in the court records book for scioto county i found the following on a William MONTGOMERY. he is mentioned in the will of George BELOAT in 1831, it mentions that Williams wife was nancyBLOAT MONTGOMERY who at the time of the will had already passed away. he wasen't eft anything in particular, i believe he was among those listed who shared the estate in general. William is also listed in the will of Michael LACROIX in 1834. it listed there that this mr.LACROIX's children were to live with William and his wife Hannah until they were of age. this is possible that Hannah was his 2nd wife Listed in a much larger will was the following, word for word: will of Matilda MONTGOMERY dated 23april1846. will written in jan, 1846 township of Porter Ohio dev; children of my deceased brother Abraham MONTGOMERY $1 each annually until 14 years.: mother Hannah MONTGOMERY, my interest in Mills situated on Pine creek: my niece Catherine M. LACROIX, nephew William LACROIX, a sister Melissa MCKEE. with John M> BERRY and Uri NURSE.
