    1. OHIO CEMETERY LOCATIONS 1 AND 2
    2. Mark Meinhart
    3. Hello Ohio-Rooters, I hope I word this better than I did the first time I did this. With the generosity of Sandy Hayden, I now have both books put out by Ohio Genealogy Socitety for OHIO CEMETERY LOCATIONS. These books locates the majority of the cemeteries in OHIO. I can locate the cemeteries by a few ways. It locates the by County, Township and by Names. Keep in mind that there could be several of the same name, please give me a county, township or city to work with, if you just have a name. These two books LOCATE CEMETERIES ONLY, NOT THE PEOPLE IN THEM. FYI, the first book was done in 1978 and the addendum was done in 1990. The OGS is still updating their base and it doesn't locate all the cemeteries, but it's the best you can get for now. I'm still looking up Franklin County Cemeteries, I do have access to 10 books with people inside them. I will be doing Perry county in the next week or two when I get caught up, I will take advance requests, but be patient on the answers. Have a good weekend, Mark ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

    3. In reference to the post I made yesterday about capitalization, I sincerely apologize if I offended or hurt anyone; apparently it was not received in the spirit in which it was intended. It is my fault and I take full responsibility for it; if anyone feels strongly enough about it, please e-mail me privately and I will apologize personally to you by return e-mail. Fair enough? I am sorry. Now... back to genealogy! -- God Bless You, Michael A. Radcliff 2009 Olive Court Milton, W.Va. 25541 mradclif@marshall.edu

    3. In a message dated 98-04-22 22:24:46 EDT, you write: << I really don't mean to fuss - this is just kind of a hint: when you post a query to the list (any list) please consider using proper punctuation. Have you stopped to look at a long message where nothing was capitalized? It is very confusing and hard to read. I know that some folks are not that familiar with keyboards, but it's really simple -just hold down the key marked "SHIFT" while you press the letter key and it makes a capital letter! It would really make reading them SO much easier! Thanks! >> I have a little addition to this post. If everyone will capitalize the surnames in their inquiries, it makes it much easier to scan the posting & see if it involves your family. This is especially helpful if the posting is lenthy & contains several surnames as follows: I am interested in finding out more about the descendants of the 1st marriage my great-grandfather, Fernando C. SEARL who was married to 1. Julyann SCHOONOVER & 2. Caroline SHOEMAKER. Fernando was the son of Nathaniel SEARL & Rebecca WHITE who came to Scioto Co. in 1811, from Steuben County, NY. The children from his marriage to Julyann SCHOONOVER were, Minta Eurydice who married a Rev VAN ANDA, Geneva Helen who married a FLEMING, Molly who married a Charles MORTON, and Orpheus Alfonso who married Mary McFANN. Any help would be appreciated. Linda K. Clifford

    3. Thought this was a genealogy discussion group - not an English assignment! I, too, prefer proper punctuation and grammar, but let's not forget the purpose of this site: to gather and share information! We can learn much from young and old, educated and not, typists or hunt and peckers!

    3. My GG Uncle James Emmitt a native of Pike Co. was the mfg. and distributor nationwide a sort ot linament in the late 1800's that could be used internally or rubbed on the skin. named "Emmitts Discovery". Very extravagent claimd were for it . It was a cure for almost anything from deafness, arthuritus, consumption, stroke or anything, that may have ailed a person or beast. . I am told it came about as the result of an accident in Jame's distillery when his mule kicked over a can of coal oil spilling into a barrel of his best whiskey. Redistilling would not remove the bad taste so he tried rubbing it on his arthuritis, it helped. He bottled it for sale and made so much more it kept his distillery busy for years. the Indians in the west bought lots of it, I suppose for drinking since it was not taxed. Does anybody have one of the old bottles it was sold in, or more information on same. James died in 1893 stopping the supply. I have been told some people kept a bottle of it hidden away fo many years afterward reserving it for the most urgent emergencies.. Maybe some one still has some of it waiting for such an emergency. Any help will be appreciated. John Emmitt Searching the following sur names: Bateman, Davis, Emmitt, Renoud, Wallrodt, Miller

    2. Judy Lee Nichols
    3. THANKS TO THIS SERVER, I FINALLY FOUND A CONNECTION THIS WEEK, sorry for any confusion I caused yesterday. One of my earlier postings, I inadvertantly titled the subject of a posting, "love, smile, peace," with some seeing such a flimsy subject, they automatically deleted it, which is kinda understandable. But a lady responded and sent a message back, and I was still able to get ahold of "Gary Steele." Many thanks to BEVERLY MURPHY. I will send another posting later on, explaining what I have found with dates the best I can. Gary Steele and I both have the same GG-grandfather, JOHN STEELE. I am so happy to have found some relation. Well, I better take care of business today, and will send that next posting with some detail, to help me understand better and you too. Have a beautiful day and god bless. Cheers, Judy Lee Fry Nichols RESEARCHING DARLING, STEELE, STEEL, SHOEMAKER, HART, BARNHART, PETERS, PENWELL, MERRIMAN

    3. Hello, I am wondering if anyone on the list can tell me where this township was located before Jackson became Jackson Co. Was it in Ross?? Where would marriages previous to this being a county for this area be located? I have many different families in Franklin Township, Jackson Co. Ohio and they were there before 1800 or at least a couple of them were. Chapman, James; Radcliff, David; Mercer, Levi, Martin, Wm.; Cantwell, John. Also possible connection to Obediah Ragsdale family through a marriage of Mrs. Sarah Chapman and Berry Ragsdale in 1815. Any assistance will be much appreciated and will of course exchange. Also what type of religion was usual for this area, and what churchs for this early period?? Again thank you. Kay Goeggle kgoeggle@laribay.net
