FLORENCE - Truman Rock Elvis, 81, of Florence, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Conway at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday. Mr. Elvis was born in Horry County, a son of the late Rev. Leroy and Charlotte Jordan Elvis. He was a member of College Park Baptist Church, and was a member of Amity Lodge #340 AFM and the Omar Shrine. Surviving are; 2 children, Cary (Toni) Elvis and Nancy Scott, both of Florence; 4 Grandchildren; Christopher (Susan) Elvis of Irmo, Stephanie (Brent) Raley of West Columbia, Ashley Scott of Aiken, and Nicole Scott of Florence; 3 Great-Grandchildren; and 3 Sisters; Rita Dennis and Vivian Chestnut, both of Conway, and Gerri Anderson of Myrtle Beach. Also a number of Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, Collin Elvis, Virgil Elvis, Lloyd Elvis, and Bernard Elvis.
