Arlene J. Skipper, age 80, wife of the late Aubrey Eugene Skipper, went home to be with her heavenly father while surrounded by her family and extended family at Agape Hospice. Mrs. Skipper was born in Galivants Ferry, a daughter of the late Joe Z. and Edith Belle Capps Johnson. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Sheila Strickland and 3 sisters. She had been a member of the Conway Church of God since 1958. Prior to retirement, she was employed by AVX for 13 years. Surviving are: two sons, Michael Joe Johnson (Sandra) of Elkton, Maryland and Dennis "Tiny" Skipper (Sarah) of Conway; four daughters, Donna Strickland (Aubrey) and Crystal Montgomery (Randy), all of Conway, Jan Ray (Mitchell) of Galivants Ferry and Ann Gasque (Craig) of Aynor; two sisters, Maybeth Herring of Ladson, SC and Ann Stroud of Nichols; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday from Conway Church of God with Rev. Stuart Jacobs, Rev. Eddie Altman, Rev. Bobby Winn, and Rev. James Goude officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday.
