Samuel Burton "Frank" Floyd, age 87, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Loris Extended Care Center following an illness. Mr. Floyd was born January 7, 1923 in Horry County a son of the late Sammy and Lessie Floyd. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during World War II. Mr. Floyd was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Dorothy Floyd; one daughter, Nancy Benton; one brother, J.D. Floyd; and three sisters, Alberta Jackson, Janie Norris, and Leomia Floyd. Survivors include three daughters, Jo Davenport of Knoxville, TN, Donna Rhodes of Loris, and Teresa Floyd of Loris; one brother, Willie Floyd and his wife Foy of Columbia; two sisters, Claudia Mae Holden of Fayetteville, NC and Isadell Cummings of Nakina, NC; three grandchildren, Bobby Benton and his wife Susan, Randy Rhodes and his wife Amber, and Melissa Ward; and three great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Caleb, and Kade. The family will receive friends Friday, May 14, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Ward Funeral Home in Loris.
