    2. Mazie A. Gerald Hardwick, 95, widow of Walter Thurman Hardwick, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hardwick was born September 15, 1914 in Horry County to the late John and Doar Hucks Gerald. She was retired from the Horry County School System and was a member of the Eastern Star. She was an active member of the Mullins First Baptist Church and the Crusaders Sunday School Class. Mrs. Hardwick enjoyed her many friends, playing Bingo, flowers, and her family. She was predeceased in death by her husband; a son, Walter Harold Hardwick; a daughter, Laura Jeanette Ross; a brother, J.P. Gerald; and four sisters, Rose Watts, Fannie Ray, Bernice Worley, and Lee Elliott. She is survived by two daughters, Doris Miller of Lancaster, S.C., and Barbara Elliott and her husband, Charles, of Camden, S.C.; son-in-law, William "Bill" Ross of Mullins; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hardwick of Charleston, S.C.; six grandchildren, Andrea (Joey) Ghent, Renea (Todd) Finley, Harold Dean (Jackie) Hardwick, Susan (Ken) Denton, Mitch (Lori) Elliott, and Shawn (Summer) Elliott; three sisters, Marilyn Steel, Reggie Galiarde, and Ernestine Riccaboni; and fifteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening, May 16, 2010, at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2010 at Mullins First Baptist Church with the Reverend Jim Kirkland officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
