CHARLESTON - Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of May 27, 2010, Sara Gilliard Forbes, widow of Charles Edward Forbes, Sr. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Sara G. Forbes are invited to attend her funeral services Saturday, May 29, 2010, in J. HENRY STUHR, IND., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL at three o'clock. Interment, Magnolia Cemetery. Mrs. Forbes was born June 30, 1918, in Conway, SC, the daughter of Luther Bascom Gilliard and Julia Woodard Gilliard Sessions. She was a member of Rutledge Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons: Charles E. Forbes, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, Pat Forbes of Naples, FL and Nat Forbes of James Island, SC; one daughter Linda Darlene McKeown of Charleston, SC; daughter-in-law, Mary C. Forbes; eleven grandchildren, Laney Corbett (Kerry), Robbie Forbes (Shannon), Melody Worsham (Mark), Neal Forbes, Paul Forbes, Shawn Davis (Marion), Lynn Hopkins (Russ), Gary Forbes, Brian Forbes (Asia), Michael Forbes (Sun Hee), Teri Irene Forbes and Zachary Dylan Paden; 20 great-grandchildren; nine nephews and six nieces. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Chuck Forbes; brothers, Virgil and L.B. Gilliard; sisters, Lucille Flowers David, Gwendolyn Prevatte and Elizabeth Steedley.
