    2. CHARLESTON - Lorraine Hardee Taylor, of Charleston, SC, departed this life on Sunday, May 2, 2010. Mrs. Taylor was born September 9, 1924 in Horry County, daughter of the late Everett Perry Hardee and Susan Hewitt Hardee. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rollie L. Tyler and four brothers, Ellison, Weston, Paul and Horace Hardee. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Floyd E. Taylor of the home; daughters Catherine (Thomas P.) Cole of Wooster, OH and Jackie (Edward W.) Rabin of Chicago, IL; sisters Frances (James E.) King of Bedford, VA and Hazel (Melvin L.) Baker of Dale City, VA; grandchildren, Tanya Cole of Atlanta, GA and Phillip (Maria) Cole of Simpsonville, SC; great-grandchildren Jonathon and Eleni Cole. Mrs. Taylor was a past Worthy Matron, faithful and active member of Eastern Star Chapter 56 for over 40 years. She was an avid gardener, both flowers (especially roses) and organic vegetables. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, needlework and for many years was quite the fisherman, even making her own cast nets. She was a lighthouse collector and at age 70, took art lessons and started painting pictures f lighthouses, flowers and churches. She was always looking for something new to learn. She loved people and always spread sunshine and smiles to everyone she met. We thank the staff and residents of Ashley River Plantation Assisted Living Community for all the hugs and love you have shared with our "Sweet Lorraine". We also appreciate the help and support of Odyssey. Instead of flowers, please give some sunshine, love and smiles to people whom you meet in your life's journey.
