    2. Frances W. Platt, 75, passed away May 8, 2010 at the home of her daughter on the Isle of Palms. Mrs. Platt was the only daughter of, and was predeceased by, her loving parents, Edward Hill Waters and Carline Faircloth Waters. Mrs. Platt graduated from Loris High School in 1964, and later moved with her three children, where she was fortunate enough to manage several Credit Unions for the next 24 years and had the distinct honor of serving as the first woman president of the Trident Chapter of Credit Unions of which there were 18 at the time. Ms. Platt served two successful terms at this position. In 1988, she earned her real estate license and spent the next 11 years as a successful real estate agent in Charleston SC and the surrounding areas. Mrs. Platt was a member of First Baptist Church in Murrells Inlet and served as secretary of the Women's Missions Union (WMU), and on the Hospitality and the Homecoming committees. She sang beautifully in the choir and was the leader of the senior group, XYZ. Mrs. Platt is survived by her loving children, daughter Rebecca P. McKee of Isle of Palms, SC; and sons, Thomas Edward Platt of Paris, KY, and Steven Eugene Platt of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and also by her grandchildren, Heather M. Thompson of Moncks Corner, SC, Palmer H. McKee of Isle of Palms, SC, Madaline Delaney Thompson of Moncks Corner, SC, Jennifer P. Coalson of Shelby, NC and Brittney M. Platt of Wilmington, NC. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010 in the of the Inman Funeral Home Chapel, with graveside services to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City, NC. Family will receive friends following the service. Donations may be made to Hospice Murrells Inlet. Published in The Sun News on May 9, 2010
