Vera L. "Peanut" Chestnut, 85, of Rodney Rd., passed away peacefully at home Friday, May 21, 2010 after a bout with Cancer. Mrs. Chestnut was born in Horry County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Rosa Della Holden Lee. She was a member of Ridgefield Baptist Church. Working as an LPN for many years she touched the lives of all her patients. She was deeply loved and admired by her family and friends. Mrs. Chestnut was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence M. Chestnut; one son; Clayton Chestnut; one daughter; Audrey R. Dillinger, seven brothers; and one sister. Survivors include three daughters, Vera F. "Krickett" Miller and husband, Roland, of Tallahassee, Fla., V. Gail Drouillard and companion, Mel, of Myrtle Beach, and Alice F. "Bunny" Spears and husband, Carold, of Conway; one brother, Clyde Lee of Murrells Inlet; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, with the Rev. Carl Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the funeral home.
