Mr. Elwood "Nick" Chestnut, age 71, of Longs, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 9, 2010. Mr. Chestnut was born on October 22, 1938, in Myrtle Beach, SC, a son of the late Donnie A. and Thelma Inman Chestnut. He was a member of the Buck Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Chestnut was a farmer and an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the company of many friends. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elnita Gerald Chestnut of Longs; one son, Jerry Chestnut and his wife, Penny, of Longs; one daughter, Angela Chestnut of Cape Coral, Florida; two beloved granddaughters, Kristen and Kelly Chestnut; one brother, Cliff Chestnut and his wife, Renita, of Longs; two sisters, Shirley C. Grainger of Myrtle Beach, and Judy C. Edwards and her husband, Preston, of Idaho; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 12, 2010, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010, from the Buck Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Allen and Rev. Lebron Crisp officiating.
