    2. Diane S. Floyd, born July 9, 1947, entered into eternal rest on May 22, 2010, as a result of an accidental fall at her residence. She was the eldest daughter of the late Joe E. Smith, Jr. and Flora Jean R. Smith of Galivants Ferry, SC. Mrs. Floyd was born in Mullins S.C., and graduated from Aynor High School in 1965, she moved to Columbia and worked in both retail and real estate offices and retired from the SC Real Estate Commission in 2001. She loved her many cats and was a loving wife, sister, aunt, friend and especially a devoted Mother to her sons. She showed tremendous kindness to everyone and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, O. Coke Floyd, Jr., sons William D. Squires, Justin C. Floyd, and Danny L. Floyd, all of Columbia, SC; sisters Brenda J. Smith and Glenda J. Rowell of North Charleston, SC, and Jeanie S. Reynolds (Anthony) of Galivants Ferry, SC; and a brother, Joe E. Joey Smith, III, (Sherry) of Galivants Ferry, SC; aunts Kathleen R. Floyd and Carolyn R. Andrews of Aynor, SC; brother-in-law M. Dale Floyd (Linda) of Columbia, SC; and many cousins, nephews and nieces who loved her very much. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 24,2010 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Pastor Darren, Rev. Don, and Davey Squires officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm Monday at the Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Joey Smith, IV, Clint Smith, Jamie Reynolds, Marcus Cook, Kenny Ward, and Joe Rabon. The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to Dr. William Butler and Nurses Dusty Burrell and Ann Potthast of SC Oncology Associates, for their devoted care and compassion during her almost four year battle with Stage IV Kidney Cancer. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society , 950 48th Ave.N Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 or to The National Kidney Foundation ,610 Executive Blvd, Rockville Md. 20852 or a charity of your choice.
