MYRTLE BEACH - Jay Dee Hucks, age 88, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hucks was born in Marion County, a son of the late Allard Brockington and Maude Larrimore Hucks. He was a member of Tabernacle Methodist Church in Marion County. Mr. Hucks was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland. Prior to retirement he was owner and operator of Hucks Automotive in Myrtle Beach. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Cox Berry Hucks of Myrtle Beach, SC; four sons, A. Cecil Collins, Jr. and wife Debbie of Florence, SC, Stephen A. Berry, Jr. and wife Barbara of Timmonsville, SC, A. Lenneau Berry and wife Sheila of Latta, SC, and Bryan W. Berry, Sr. and wife Angie of Latta, SC; one brother, Bob Hucks and wife Beatrice of Myrtle Beach, SC; several grandchildren, great-grandchild-ren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday at Bethesda Southern Methodist Church with Rev. David Fulmer and Rev. Bryan Windburn officiating. Burial will follow in Bethesda Southern Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
