MARION, SC - Mrs. Walker Bell Martin Ray, 80, wife of Walter J. Ray, Jr., died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Marion Regional Hospital. Mrs. Ray was born Nov-ember 30, 1929 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Walter and Inez Alford Martin. She was a retired teacher, having taught in the Marion County School District. Mrs. Ray was a member of Marion Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. Surviving Mrs. Ray in addition to her husband of the home are: 2 Sons: Danny Ray and his wife Kim of Charleston and Jimmy Ray of Hanahan; a Brother: Fulton Martin and his wife Sara of Charleston; and a Sister: Joyce Martin of Conway. Visitation will be held Friday afternoon, October 29, from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. in the Marion Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 P.M. in the Sanctuary of the Marion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Stan Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Marion Baptist Church Music Ministry, 106 S. Main St., Marion, S.C. 29571.
