Lacy Lanue Strickland, 79, died Friday, October 1, 2010 at his home after an illness. Mr. Strickland was born September 18, 1931 in Horry County, a son of the late Ken and Janie Hinson Strickland. He was a retired security guard and a U. S. Army veteran. Surviving Mr. Strickland are a brother, Lenzie Jack Strickland of McBee; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 2:30 until 4 p.m. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with Mr. Strickland's nephew, the Rev. Jack Strickland, officiating. Burial will follow at Powell Cemetery in Fair Bluff, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lacy L. Strickland Memorial Fund, c/o Cox-Collins Funeral Home, P. O. Box 613, Mullins, S.C.
