Ravenel Thomas Gerrald, 78, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at Agape Senior in Conway after an illness. Mr. Gerrald was born January 25, 1932 in Horry County, a son of the late Sam T. and Myrtle G. Gerrald. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Gerrald was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was a Manson and Shriner. Surviving Mr. Gerrald are a sister, Carolyn G. Perritt and her husband, Aubrey, of Aynor; a brother, James C. Gerald and his wife, Betty, of Nichols; and 10 nieces and nephews. Mr. Gerrald was predeceased by his wife, Marvel Floyd Gerrald; three brothers, Vondell Gerrald, Lonnie Gerrald and Harold Gerrald; and three sisters, Hazel Lacome, Joann Dougherty and Marilyn Ressler. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Green Sea Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Alford officiating. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Agape Hospice, 128-A Professional Park Dr., Conway, SC 29526.
