    1. [SCHORRY] Vera Floyd Jordan
    2. Vera Floyd Jordan, 72, of Luck Road, died Monday, October 18, 2010 at Loris Hospital. Mrs. Jordan was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Hampton L. and Alene Cooper Floyd. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the South Carolina Forestry Commission as a fire tower operator in Aynor and Wampee. For many years, she was an active member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church of Aynor. Mrs. Jordan was married to her late husband, Lonnie B. Jordan, for 51 years. Surviving are five children, Terri Buffkin (Steve) of Loris, Melanie Nesbitt (Weldon) of Gresham, Judith Jordan of Lowell, Mass., Carol Small (Thomas) of Galivants Ferry, and Lonnie Brian Jordan (Missy) of Conway; brother, Larue Floyd (Judy) of Galivants Ferry; 10 grandchildren, Warren, Crystal, April, Josh, Gabe, Robert, Timothy, Jessi, Joseph, and Jacob; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, William, Forrest, and Ethan; several special nieces and nephews; and her devoted pet, "Pooh." Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by a sister, Lota Floyd Jordan (Morris). Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Pisgah United Methodist Church in Aynor, with the Rev. Jack Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
