    2. Mrs. Thelma Hazel Jernigan Wright, age 85, of Effingham, SC died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Florence Hospice House following an extended illness. Born March 5, 1925 in Loris, SC she was the daughter of the late Cleveland C. Jernigan and the late Francis Doretha (Dora) Powell Jernigan. Mrs. Wright was a member of Samoset Baptist Church of Bradenton, FL and attended Cherry Hill Baptist Church. She retired from Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL and retired from Grand Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach, SC after forty years of combined service. She was a dedicated loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-great-grandmother. Survivors include her daughter: Margaret Linda Suggs and husband, Ronald of Effingham, SC; three sons: Jimmy D. Wright of Effingham, Danny Wright of Florence, SC and John Wright of Effingham; six grandchildren: Chris Suggs of Florence, Greg Suggs of Effingham, Lisa Robertson of Myrtle Beach, Sean Wright of Bradenton, FL, and Edwin and Jerry Dew of Conway, SC; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Horace Terry Jernigan of Florence and Harry K. Jernigan of Loris; special sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. She became a loving mother to Linda Bachelor Murphy and her husband Larry Murphy of Murphy, NC; Mrs. Wright was predeceased by her parents, her daughter: Flora Edwina Wright Manson; three brothers: Bruce Jernigan, Rudolph Jernigan, and Hubert Jernigan; and her lifelong friend and co-worker: Alice Batchelor. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with committal services following at Mt. Zion cemetery. Reverend Billy Prince will officiate services. Visitation will be Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at Hardwick Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, 1203 Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29506.
