COLUMBIA - The funeral service for Ruben """Big Buck""" Jordan, 72, of Columbia will be held at 4 o""'clock Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel officiated by The Rev. Ken Jackson and The Rev. Dr. Bill Drees. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church Youth Fund, 2666 Highway 1 S, Elgin, SC 29045. Mr. Jordan died Friday, October 15, 2010. Born in Horry County, November 24, 1937, he was a son of the late Henry H. Jordan and Alma Rice Jordan. A member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Elgin, """Big Buck""" was the retired owner and operator of the Jordan Sheet Metal Co. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed hunting and loved the outdoors. He was an honorary member of St. Paul Hunting Club, Goff Swamp Hunting Club and Kingsville Hunting Club. Survivors include his wife, Frances O""'Quinn Jordan; daughter, Lynn (Jason) Stewart of Elgin; son, Ruben W. Jordan, Jr. (Nancy Kerr) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Angela Tolbert (Joseph), Bryan Stewart (Brittany Gray), and Joseph Jordan; great-grandson, Landon Stewart; sister, Belvia """Betty""" Jackson of Cayce; brothers, Ernest """Little Buck""" Jordan of Ridgeway, Paul Jordan and Arthur Jordan both of Columbia; and his constant companion, Tinker Bell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Keith, Jim, Frank, and Tillman Jordan.
