Charles Brandon James, age 20, went to meet Jesus on Sunday, October 24, 2010. Brandon was born April 5, 1990 in Conway, S.C. He was a sports spectacular, often competing in track, cross-country, and baseball. His numerous awards and trophies are only outnumbered by the family and friends who loved him dearly. He recently won first place in the Myrtle Beach 5K in his age division. Brandon had been a baseball all-star from an early age. He participated in tryouts with the Atlanta Braves and they continued to monitor his career and considered him a rising star. His friends and teammates nicknamed him "Flash" because of his excellent speed. He enjoyed fishing and was a talented artist. Brandon graduated from Loris High School in 2008 where he played the trumpet in the school band. He was a longtime member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and had recently become a member at Grace Baptist Church of Horry County. Brandon was predeceased by his grandfather, Wade Scott, and his uncle, Jeffrey Gerald. He is survived by his mother, Deana Boyd and her husband, Carroll, of Loris; his brothers, Scott James and Elliott Boyd, both of Loris; his father, Timmy James and his wife, Sandy, of Loris; his brothers, Scott James and Landon Seth James, both of Loris; his sisters, Taylor Brooke Norris and Brandy Alexis James, both of Loris; his grandparents, Ed and Hester James of Loris, Judy and Jimmy Norris of Loris; his grandmother, Wilma Scott of Surfside Beach; his grandparents, Phil and Peggy Archer of Montana and Billy and Earline Boyd of Loris; his aunts and uncles, Barry and Laura Spivey, Tony and Samantha Skipper, Christian and Jennifer Anderson, Missy and Jason McGough, Chris and Nicky Bellamy, Ricky Purgason, Wendell and Wende Boyd, Dale and Elaine Atkinson, and Randall and Ann Phipps; a special friend, Morgan Fowler; several cousins; and many special friends that are too many to mention.
