Thelbert Bellamy, age 81, of Kates Bay Hwy., died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Bellamy was born in Conway, a son of the late Thomas Grier and Eulee Tucker Bellamy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Bellamy retired as manager of Carolina Butane & Creel Gas Company, and worked partime with NAPA in Conway. He was an active member of the Conway Saddle Club. Mr. Bellamy loved working in his yard and garden, and caring for his horses. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Mamie F. "MeMa" Bellamy. Surviving are one son, Buddy Bellamy and wife, Jane, of Conway; two daughters, Brenda B. Graham and husband, Bill, Susan B. Martin and husband, Woody, all of Conway; six grandchildren, Allyson Hudson, Emily Holmes, Julia Brown, Thomas Martin, Brandon Martin, and Jaid Martin; seven great-grandchildren, Grier, Emma, Catherine, Ella, Timothy, Easton, and Rivers; and two sisters, Flora Mae Nobles and Lella Faye Sanders, both of Conway. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Guffey and Rev. Tommy Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will recieve friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church.
