Gloria Ann Jackson Bell, age 64, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Bell was born January 25, 1946 in Loris, a daughter of Austin and Lois Jackson. She was a member of Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church. Mrs. Bell loved her work with the Horry County Sheriff's Department where she served as a Bailiff for several years. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She was predeceased by one sister, Pam Owens; and one daughter, Lisa. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, James Melvin Bell of Loris; one son, Derek Bell of Loris; her parents, Austin and Lois Jackson of Mullins; and two sisters, Phyllis Luff and her husband, Roland, of Florida and Angela Shelley of Mullins. Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church with the Rev. Rocky Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
