Margaret Blackmon Stalvey, 88, wife of the late Archie B. Stalvey, of Blackmon Road, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Stalvey was born in Dillon, South Carolina, a daughter of the late John Henry and Debbie Lee Hayes Blackmon. She was a member of Conway Freewill Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Stalvey was preceded in death by four brothers, Lamar Blackmon, Gary Blackmon, Ellis Blackmon, and Flim Blackmon; and three sisters, Alma Willoughby, Thelma Bailey, and Nellie Godbolt. Surviving are three sons, Bobby Roy Stalvey and wife, Leola, Michael B. Stalvey and wife, Marilyn, and Jerry Stalvey, all of Conway; one daughter, Brenda Joyce Hyman and husband, Donald, of Conway; and five grandchildren, Bobby Stalvey, Jr., Susan Springer, Teresa Dawn Stalvey, Brad Stalvey, and Valerie Stalvey. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 from Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, with the Rev. Dale Willoughby and the Rev. Billy Carroll officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the funeral home.
