William "Grover" Small, 81, of Adrian Hwy., died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. He was born July 10, 1929 in Nichols, a son of Mary Gleet Small and the late William Adolphus Small. In addition to his father, he was also predeceased by his wife, Blanche Poston Small; a stepson, Jerry Gasque; a brother, Layton Small; and a sister, Doris "Dossie" Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. Grover was a strong-willed person. He was always full of humor and loved to tell a joke. Mr. Small is survived by two step-sons, Alonzo Gasque of N.C. and Roscoe Gasque of Conway; three sisters, Virginia Lamb of Ariz., Margaret Highley and Shirley Matthew, both of Pa.; sister-in-law, Mary Juanita Small of Conway; and two close friends, Sara Lynn Edge and George Pack who were like family and whose support, assistance and love throughout the last years of his life brought him joy and comfort; his faithful care-giver, Eloise Ganis; several nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends who will miss him. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel with Pastor John Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Cemetery.
