WHITE ROCK - Mamie Lee Howle Curley, 84, passed away Friday, Sept-ember 10, 2010 in White Rock, SC. Mrs. Curley was born in Darlington, SC one of eight children of the late John Newton and Letha Hoffman Howle. Mrs. Curley served in the United States Army during World War II. She was a former employee of the Dixie Cup Plant in Darl-ington, SC in 1959, she met and married Henry F. Curley, now deceased, and moved to North Myrtle Beach, SC where she became very involved in her husband's Plumbing and Electric Company. She spent many hours on the salt water marshes of Cherry Grove Beach boating, fishing, crabbing and enjoying the water. In their retirement, Mrs. Curley went back to classes and became a certified trainer in porcelain doll making. She spent many hours making dolls that were shared with many of her friends and family. Mrs. Curley was a member of Bible Fellowship Baptist Church in Little River, SC. Mrs. Curley is survived by her son, Charles David Truett and his wife, Janice and daughter, Mary Lee Cashwell Geist and her husband, Harold; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. All will miss her kindness and happy smiles that she gave frequently. A private memorial service will be held Sunday, September 19, 2010.
