Gary D. "Buddy" Gause passed away September 13, 2010 at Grand Strand Hospital. Born in Conway, S.C., Buddy was a lifetime resident of Myrtle Beach. Buddy was an avid participant in the Boy Scouts of America, where he encouraged the growth and development of his son. His love of family, animals, and gardening were unsurpassed. Buddy could be found in his yard tending to his garden, or at the opening of a hot grill cooking up a storm. Although he faced many struggles in his life, his strength was an inspiration to everyone he met. Buddy was no stranger to hardship and strife, and he was and still is an embodiment of perseverance. He is survived by his wife of the home, Lenna D. Gause; his ex-wife, Shirley R. Stone of Conway; his son, Corporal Christopher Q. Stone of Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., and his wife, Melissa D. Stone; two step sons, Benjamin Boeck and his wife, Jessica, and their son, Jacob, of North Carolina; his mother, Reann Collins of Murrells Inlet; his sister, Donna Underwood and her husband, Earl, and their twin daughters Alexandra and Alexis, all of North Carolina; his brother, Terry Gause and wife, Pam, and son, Derek and daughter, Tara; and great-niece, Reagan, all of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Gause; and step father, Anderew Theron Collins. Published in The Sun News on September 17, 2010
