Jane Spivey Gore, age 81, widow of the late Leon Norwood Gore, Sr., died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Mrs. Gore was born in Conway, SC, a daughter of the late Doc and Belle Barnhill Spivey. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Aberdeen Manufacturing. Mrs. Gore was predeceased by one son, Leon Gore, Jr.; and five brothers, Larue Spivey, Lloyd Spivey, Johnny Spivey, Ashley Spivey, and Willie Spivey. Surviving are one son, Dickie Gore and wife Teresa of Aynor; two daughters, Deborah Gore Spivey and husband Freddy of Conway, and Gail Smith and husband Larry of Herndon, VA; one daughter-in-law, Louise Martin of Conway; seven grandchildren, Tamara Grainger, Jason Gore, Frederick Spivey, Christopher Gore, Jeremy Gore, Amanda Fursetzer, and Leslie Walker; two step-grandchildren, Christina Suber and Bradley Suber; three great-grandchildren, Madison Spangler, Preston Spangler, and Abigail Fursetzer; four special nieces, Cynthia Duke, Anne Taylor, Jamie Sawyer, and Melissa Gore; two brothers, Billy Joe Spivey and Terry Spivey both of Myrtle Beach; and one sister, Armyliss Watts of Conway. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday at Union United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Johnson and Rev. George Olive officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
