Mrs. Hazel Muriel Floyd Bellamy, age 85, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Loris Extended Care Facility following an illness. Born September 13, 1924 in Green Sea, SC to Mr. Gutha Lee Floyd and Mrs. Minnie Jane Johnson Floyd. Mrs. Bellamy worked as an operator with Southern Bell and retired from the Horry School District. She was a lifetime member of The Loris Garden Club and a longtime, very active member of Green Sea Baptist Church where she served in numerous capacities. Survivors include her son: Hugh Bellamy and wife, Barbara of Loris; three daughters: Sherry Fowler and husband, Ray of Loris, Patricia McDaniel and husband, Darius of Sumter, SC and Pamela Hobeika and husband, Donnie Tucker of Murrells Inlet, SC; one brother: Ted Floyd of Tabor City, NC; one sister: Retha Graham of Loris; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bellamy was predeceased by her parents; her husband: Nathan Hubert Bellamy, Sr.; three brothers: Hoyt, Vernon and Earl Floyd; and one sister: Lula Dew. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Green Sea Baptist Church with committal services following at Bellamy Cemetery. Reverend Tim Nugent will officiate services.
