FLORENCE - William Trapier Goldfinch, age 73, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at McLeod Health in Florence, SC. Mr. Goldfinch was born in Conway, SC on February 11, 1937. The youngest child of Jewell Vernon Pepper Goldfinch and Art-hur Kelly Goldfinch, Sr. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur Kelly Goldfinch, Jr. and his sisters, Helen Vernon G. Oliver and Elizabeth G. Stalvey Singleton. Mr. Goldfinch was a graduate of Wofford College and the University of South Carolina School of Law. At one time he practiced law in Conway, and was a vice president and trust officer of Guaranty Bank & Trust Co. in Florence, SC, and also Southern Bank & Trust Co. in Florence. He served in the SC National Guard and US Air Force Reserves. Mr. Goldfinch was active in the Pee Dee Area Chapter of the March of Dimes for several years. He was a member of and a past treasurer of The Darlington County Historical Society and a member of and warden in the Saint David's Society. Mr. Goldfinch was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Conway, SC. He had lived in Florence, Hartsville and Darlington from 1968 until present. Survived by his sister, Jewell Claire Goldfinch Riggs of Gastonia, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Private graveside service was held at Lakeside Cemetery in Conway.
