    2. Oliver "Smokey" E. Fowler MONCKS CORNER - Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 31, 2010, surrounded by family and friends Oliver E. Fowler, affectionately known as "Smokey", husband of Mildred Fowler. Residence, Moncks Corner, SC. The relatives and friends of Smokey are invited to attend his funeral service in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Monday, August 2, 2010, at two o'clock. Interment with Military Honors in Carolina Memorial Park. Friends may call at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel on Sunday, August 1, 2010, between six and eight o'clock. Born May 5, 1940, in Loris, SC, he was the son of Andrew Fowler and Maude Hardee Turner. Smokey served in the U.S. Army and was a member of VFW Post 166 in Goose Creek. He retired in 1995 as a Transportation Dept. Supervisor for SCE&G after 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife Mildred of 46 years, daughter; Sonya Griffith, and her husband, Rusty, of Nashville, TN., three beautiful grandchildren Jessica, Britnee and Zachary and brother; Howard Fowler of New York. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Odyssey Healthcare of Charleston, 5965 Core Road, Suite 603, North Charleston, SC 29406.
