Mrs. Earline Bellamy Shaw, age 89, formerly of Longs, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010 following an illness. Mrs. Shaw was born March 8, 1921 in Conway, a daughter of the late Hiram Bellamy and the late Ruth Gore Bellamy. She worked at the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base for 32 years retiring in 1980. Mrs. Shaw was a member of Ashland United Methodist Church in Columbia. She was a loving mother and wife. Mrs. Shaw was predeceased by her husband, Laing Shaw, and one son, Gilbert Laing Shaw, III. Survivors include one daughter, Gloria Shaw of Columbia, one son, Colin "Bootsie" Shaw of Columbia, and two grandchildren, Colin Murray Shaw of Charleston and Jennifer Jane Shaw of Los Angeles, California. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Long and the Rev. Joel Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the Buck Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the services.
