Eva Mae King Evans, 95, passed away November 9, 2010, at Golden Hill Health Care Center in Kingston, N.Y. Mrs. Evans was born in 1915 in Loris, S.C., a daughter of the late Herbert and Lillie Powell King. She was predeceased by her husband, Grady Evans of Henderson, Texas. Before moving to New York in 1992, she resided in New Orleans for many years. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as an assistant to patients in hospitals, as well as in retail. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, family outings, and the companionship of pet animals. She was predeceased by three sisters, Vera Suggs, Lucille Webster, and Allene Stevens; and four brothers, Lacy King, Herbert King, Liston King, and Herbert "Punky" King. Survivors include one brother, John "Buck" King of Loris; and three children, Sondra Woodvine of Lake Katrine, N.Y., Judith McGraw of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Robert Evans of Eufaula, Okla.; six grandchildren, Denise Woodvine of Kingston, N.Y., Brett Woodvine of Boston, Mass., Wesley and Phillip McGraw of Eau Claire, Wis., Shane Walch of Eufaula, Okla., and Melissa Duvoison of New Orleans, La.; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Ward Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Twin City Memorial Gardens.
