Bertie Shelton Graham, 80, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at his home following an illness. Mr. Graham was born January 27, 1930 in Loris, a son of the late Lucian Tillman Graham and the late Rosie Lee Hathaway Graham. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Graham worked as a cabinet maker and was a member of Mt. Hebron Church. He was predeceased by one son, Samuel Clay Graham; one brother, Stafford Graham; and one sister, Marie Fowler. He is survived by his wife, Frances R. Graham of the home; four children, Deborah Joan Reaves and her husband,Randy of Aynor, Steve Blair Graham and his wife Wanda, Jay Farrell Graham, Sr. and his wife Connie, and Kim Cole Graham and his wife Sylvia all of Loris; one sister, Katie Lee Tarnay of Columbia; four grandchildren, Sharon Bell and her husband Chris, Steven Graham, Hailey Graham, and Jay Farrell Graham, II; two great- grandchildren, Blake and Anna Kleespie; and two twin great-grandchildren that are to be born in November, Lester and Lola Bell. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Old Springfield Cemetery. The Rev. Ross Altman and the Rev. Donnie Graham will be officiating.
