    2. CHARLESTON - Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of December 13, 2010, Willa Paul Southard wife of James H. Southard, DVM, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Thursday, December 16, 2010, in First Baptist Church of Charleston at 2 p.m. Burial, Private. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Wednesday December 15, 2010, between five and seven o'clock and one hour prior to church service on Thursday. Willa was born April 22, 1943, in Loris, South Carolina to Rupert Edsel Paul and Bertha Todd Paul. Willa was an Alumnae of the University of Georgia, member of First Baptist Church of Charleston, member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Conway Chapter, Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, very active in - American Cancer Society Productions and the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon. She was a Paul Harris Fellow with the Rotary club of St. Andrews. She was also a former den mother with Cub Scouts, she was a member of American Veterinary Medical Association Auxiliary, and she was a National Certified Swim Official, a Miss USA Chaperone from 1978-79, and a John Ancrum SPCA spokesman from 1972-80. She is survived by her husband James H. Southard, DVM of Charleston; son, James H. Southard, Jr. DVM and his wife Terri of N. Charleston, SC; daughter, Heather S. King and her husband Eric W. of Ravenel, SC; six grandchildren, Kenzie, Abbey, Bailey, Jamie, Dalton and Jordan; and one brother, Rupert Edsel Paul, Jr. and his wife Lina of Summerton, SC. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Charleston 48 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29401, or to Charleston Animal Society 2455 Remount Rd. North Charleston, SC 29406 or the Boy Scouts of America OA 1025 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407.
