Steve Monroe Cox, 61, of Jackson Bluff Road died Thursday, December 09, 2010 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. He was born May 19, 1949 in Mullins, a son of the late Henry Denton Cox Jr. and Beatrice Shelley Cox. Steve was a loving husband, brother and friend. He lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his pets, but he especially loved spending time on the water and time with friends. He served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion and Jordanville Masonic Lodge #297. Steve was owner and operator of Cox Corporation for thirty-five years. Mr. Cox is survived by his loving wife of seventeen years, Lynn MacAuley Cox; one brother, Herald Cox of Conway; three sisters, Dixie Cox Eubank (Tom) of Murrells Inlet, Rhonda Cox Boone (Jeff) of James Island and Trudy Cox Smith of Murrells Inlet; five nieces, Alicia Harrell, Kristen Campbell, Cassie Jordan, Elsie MacAuley and Maeve MacAuley; two nephews, Justin Harrell and Colton Smith and many other family and friends who will miss him. The family will receive friends at Watson Funeral Services from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday, December 11, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held 2pm Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
