LANCASTER - Heaven became a little sweeter on the morning of Monday, December 13, 2010, when Miss April 'Princess' Loretta Willhite went to be with the Lord in Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born December 31, 1988, in Horry County, SC, a daughter of Laura Jane Horton Willhite Starr and the late James Alan Willhite. Miss Willhite attended Buford High School, enjoyed crafting beaded jewelry and was a 'Champion' member of the Palmetto Health Foundation for Palmetto Health Children's Hospital where she was a tremendous asset in fund-raising events for Cystic Fibrosis. Miss Willhite is survived by her mother, Laura 'Jane' Starr and her husband, Johnny, of the home, three brothers, Gregory Alan Horton of Elgin, SC, Johnny Paul 'J.P.' Starr II and William Ricky Lee Starr of the home, two sisters, Amy Annette Willhite and Emma Marie Willhite, both of the home, paternal grandfather, George Willhite of Simpsonville, SC, uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family and friends from Palmetto Health Children's Hospital, Springs Memorial Hospital and UNC Chapel Hill Medical Center. The Celebration of Life funeral service for Miss Willhite will be noon Saturday, December 18, 2010, in the Buford Middle School Gymnasium by theh Rev. Brad Threatt and the Rev. Eric Plyler. Burial will follow in Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family of Miss Willhite will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2010, at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720. Due to April's lifelong illness of Cystic Fibrosis and the inability to obtain life insurance, donations toward her funeral expenses would be warmly welcomed.
