J. Kelly Skipper, 74, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at his residence following an illness. Mr. Skipper was born in Conway, S.C., a son of the late George H. Skipper, Sr. and Lula Skipper Skipper. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Canal Wood. Surviving are one son, Timothy Kelly Skipper of Townsend, Tenn.; one daughter, Kelly Sabrina Fulmer of Vidalia, Ga.; four grandchildren, Tim Skipper, Jessica Skipper, Allison Skaggs and Jaylen Skaggs; two great- grandchildren, Kelly Elizabeth Skipper and Timothy Skipper, III; one brother, Oliver Skipper of Conway; and four sisters, Dottie Calder, Lou Culler, Ethel Davis and Carrie Best, all of Conway. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dock Skipper and George Skipper; and one sister, Ruby Godwin. A funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2010 in the Conway Chapel of Goldfinch Funeral Home, with the Rev. Greg Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Free Worship Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the funeral home.
