    2. On Sunday, December 12, 2010, the Lord called his child, Clara Elizabeth McGruder, home to be with him. Clara spent her earthly life dedicating herself and her family to serving God. Born to Mrs. Charity Elizabeth Young, a loving and devoted mother who preceded her in death, and Mr. Robert Young, Sr., who also preceded her in death, Clara entered her earthly existence January 4, 1947 in Horry County. Clara made her transition to heaven surrounded by her loved ones, Sunday, December 12, 2010. She recently retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 25 years of dedicated service. Clara was joined in holy matrimony to Roosevelt McGruder who departed this life March, 2004. Her lovely memories are left to be cherished by a family who truly adored the spirit and energy she brought to all who knew her, she leaves two sons, Harvey James Young (Carolyn) of Myrtle Beach, and Terrance James McGruder (Michelle) and a daughter, Kellie McGruder-Miller (William), both of Jacksonville, Fla. Very dear to her heart, she also leaves 10 beautiful grandchildren, Taryn McGruder, Elizabeth Miller, Shayla McGruder, Kayla McGruder, Harvey Young, Jr., Christopher Young, Terrance McGruder, Jr., Shakira Young, Terrance McGruder, II, and Laquasha Young, three "bonus" grandchildren, as she affectionately called them, Maria Miller, Matthew Miller and Melissa Miller, and eight "bonus" great-grandchildren, all of Jacksonville, Fla. She also leaves to cherish her memories are six sisters, Vernell Alston (Burnice), Emily Howard, Queen Esther Bowens (Prince), all of Myrtle Beach, Geraline Odom of Wilmington, N.C., and Rena Bragg (Louie) and Geraldine Ridges, both of Holly Ridge, N.C., three brothers, Robert Young, Jr. and James Young (Mary), both of Myrtle Beach, and Artie Odom Jr. (Margie); also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a very special friend, Sharon Frazier. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Sandy Grove Baptist Church, Myrtle Beach, with burial in Pine Island Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, December 17, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m., at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. Published in The Sun News on December 17, 2010
