Mildred Daniels Ray Ard, 84, went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Conway Manor following an illness. Ms. Ard was born December 14, 1926, in Conway, a daughter of the late James Arthur and Mollie Iola Roberts Capps. She was preceded in death by husbands, Henry H. Daniels, David James Ray and Jesse Wilson Ard; and a son-in-law, Grady Rabon. She was a member of Homewood Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Rabon of Aynor and Henrietta Norris and her husband, Lendale, of Conway; four grandchildren, April Norris Johnson and her husband, Russell, Amanda Norris Cox and her husband, Shane, Darren Rabon and his wife, Jenny, and Darlene Rabon Lovett and her husband, Kevin; nine great-grandchildren, Jessie Johnson, Anzy Johnson, Christian Cox, Olivia Cox, Benjamin Cox, Riley Lovett, Blakely Lovett, Banks Lovett, and Taryn Rabon; two brothers, Morgan Capps of Conway and Jack Capps of Johnsonville, S.C.; one sister, Harriett Rabon of Conway; and a number of step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from Homewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl Spivey, the Rev. Ragsdale Allsbrook, and the Rev. Paul Alford officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Ariel Freewill Baptist Church directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family would like to extend special "Thanks" to Dr. John Wilson, Jr., Dr. Charles Sasser, Mercy Care and the staff of Conway Manor for the excellent care that was given to Ms. Ard.
