Frances Alice Mills Oliver, 76, died at home Thursday, December 23, 2010, after a long illness. She was born on June 29,1934 in the Socastee community and spent most of her life between Socastee and Charleston, S.C. Pat, as she was lovingly known by friends and family, was the daughter of the late Arthur Francis and Gracie Cannon Mills. She was preceded in death by her son, Curtis Heyd; three brothers, William (Bill) Mills, Joseph (J.W.) Mills, and Jennings Mills. Surviving are two sons, Marvin C. Heyd Jr. and his wife, Mary and Donald Ray Heyd, both of Socastee; two sisters, Pearl Bullock of Socastee and Evelyn Causey of Conway; and two grandsons, Eric Heyd and Joseph Heyd. She is also survived by former husbands, Marvin C. Heyd of Monroe, N.C. and Daniel Oliver of Green, N.Y. As requested a private family service will be held Monday, December 27, 2010.
