MYRTLE BEACH - Mr. Harry Wayne Floyd Sr. 73, passed away, Sunday, December 19, 2010, at his home. Wayne was born August 8, 1937, in Loris, SC, the 9th child of the late Jessie Obie and Florrie Emmaline Gause Floyd. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Mady Belle Floyd Pender and Pauline Floyd Campbell and four brothers, Wilton Troy Floyd, James Floyd, J. Clyde Floyd and J. Bryan Floyd. He graduated from Loris High School, as wittiest in his class, and received his B.S. Degree from Newberry College in 1963. Throughout his career, Wayne was involved in restaurant, hotel, tourism and sales management. He was a member of Ocean View Baptist Church, served on the Board of Directors for the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce, was a charter member of the Myrtle Beach Sertoma Club, and a former member of the North Myrtle Beach Lions Club. His interests included his family, sports, especially golf, and beach music. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bonnie D. Floyd, his children, Harry Wayne Floyd Jr and his wife Allyson of Charlotte, NC, Shannon Floyd Chapman and her husband Lee of Columbia, SC, and William Troy Floyd and his wife Paula of Charlotte, NC, three sisters, Sylvia Floyd Breeden and husband John of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Ruby Floyd Stanley of Loris, SC, and Mildred Floyd Jordan and husband Harold of Charlotte, NC, two brothers, Charles Floyd and wife Gayle of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Jimmy Floyd and wife Marilyn of Little River, SC, and by his eight grandchildren; Elizabeth Ashley Floyd, William Lee Chapman Jr, Jessie Kristen Floyd, Charles Thurmond Chapman, Harrison William Floyd, Haley Adams Floyd, Bonnie Ann Dreher Chapman, and Emily Keatts Floyd. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Ocean View Baptist Church with Dr. Steven Cromer officiating. Burial will follow at Twin City Memorial Cemetery in Loris, SC The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 21st from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.
